My husband is90years old and had an active mind until yesterday. Within a few hours he has changed. He doesn t initiate a conversation and he s aware of this. His recall has slowed down. His temperature is running around degrees. Thus far, he is an extremely healthy man. Why such a change in hi within just a few hours.

A sudden change like this indicates an acute problem such as a stroke or severe infection. If he is having a fever, I would suspect a blood infection. In older people, symptoms may be really minimal and include only a change in personality, thinking, or onset of confusion or memory loss. Your husband needs to be seen in emergency immediately.
