i keep having random sharp pains in my arm and it keeps hurting in the same spot of the arm

Dear bkgara,
If these pains are associated with some numbness too, it could be some compression neuropathy or some old injury leading to end neuroma of the nerve injured. it would be good if you could be more specific about the site of pain so that the nerve causing the problem can be judged.
