What Is The Cause Of Low Blood Platelets?

Age 38 yrs, Height 5ft 5 inch, 70 kg. I have checked my blood platelets on advise of doctor and it have been found 71000 and 4 days later after having medication, it has gone up to 87000. doctor has advised me for 3 month medicine. Should I go for further investigation for the reason of downfall in platelets?

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your platelet count is low. There are many causes of low platelet count. Even simple viral infection can leads to this. Malaria, dengue, viral fever are some of the cause. Your platelet count is increasing so no need to worry. You should repeat your count after a week. If it becomes normal then no any further investigations are required.
