What Is The Cause Of Chest Pain?

About 8 months my ribs started to hurt. At first it was sharp burning pain in my chest when I exercised and breathed. Now it has spread so my ribs and upper back are constantly sore. Sharp pain on my ribs in the front come and go. And the area around my sternum often hurts. Any ideas?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion, you are mostly having costochondritis.
It is inflammation of ribs and cartilage.
The most common cause for this is heavy exertion.
So better to follow these steps for symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Avoid movements causing pain.
3. Avoid bad postures in sleep.
4. Apply warm water pad on affected site.
5. Start painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
You have to take rest for atleast 1-2 weeks.
Once you are alright you can star your routine activities.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
