What Is The Cause Of A Darker Vein On My Palm After A Finger Injury?

Today in Phy. Ed class I got hit with a fully filled volleyball right on my thumb at the part where it connects to the rest of my hand. It hurt really bad when it happened and still hurts now, 6 hours later. I didn't do anything about it, just went on with the rest of the school day. Ever since it happened it has some swelling and a small part is bruised toward the outer part of the bottom of my thumb. Also towards the bottom of my palm one of the veins/arteries is darker then the rest. Do I have to go to the doctor? I really don't do well in hospitals, I just can't take it. Nothing like this has ever happened to the hand that has my hurt thumb.

Itsdue to stasis of blood, cyanosis, increased circulation of decreased oxygenated haemoglobin. Applying cold pad or cold towel helps reduce pain and swelling. Give it a rest and consult general practitioner for an.opinion
