What Is The Cause For Headache And Blockage Of The Ear After The MVD Surgery?

I had MVD surgery 4 months ago for TN. I have been experiencing headaches since. They feel like lots of pressure all over my head. Also, my ears are still blocked. Tests have shown no damage. I have a bump and ridge on my skull and behind my ear where the surgery took place. It sometimes hurts. I ve been out of the country and feeling very well - at least better than what I was before. I don t take any pain meds anymore. There was a twisted artery around the nerve and another artery rubbing against the bottom of the nerve.

Hello,

The most common complications of MVD reported include chemical meningitis, facial hypesthesia, cerebrospinal fluid leak, facial paresis, and hearing loss. Delayed facial palsy (DFP) is an uncommon complication.

The blockage may be due to allergy or eustachian tube block etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet montelukast and levocetirizine.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
