What Is The Bump Near The Stitches?

I got stitches when I was 5 for a cut on my finger and shortly after a bump grew by the stitches. Ive have this bump for almost 20 yrs and my doctors said not to worry about it. It does have nerves in it because it does hurt sometimes. What is this bump and is there a way to remove it without surgery?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having suture site infection.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
