Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Based on the ultrasound report you have furnished, the cause for your irregular menstruation is found to be polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD). This condition would cause menstrual abnormalities with untimely ovulation, leading to difficulty in conceiving. But, it is a treatable condition with medications and regular follow-up. Hence, the doctor has prescribed birth control pills Mala-D, which would help to correct your periods. Periods would appear after 21 days of taking the pills. It causes withdrawal bleeding by about 5 to 7 days following stopping the pill. Since this is your first schedule of treatment, periods could happen a little late. Kindly follow the advise as given by your doctor. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
