General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Lump in the breast needs to be diagnosed by the following means.

1. Ultrasound scan.
2. Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC).
3. Biopsy and histopathological examination.

Based on the nature of the lesion and its diagnosis, treatment needs to be decided.

FNAC is a must for diagnosis. Treatment by means of hormonal therapy, if suits the diagnosis can be administered. In such a case, surgery can be avoided.

Kindly consult Surgeon for proper clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
