What Is My Blood Test Report Suggestive Of?

I had a bright red stool, and went to Doctor, who did CBC and complete blood tests. I had low platelets, so wondering about blood clotting. I was taking meloxicam, which I stopped taking. My hematocrits were 48%, probably due to apnea when my oxygen sats drop into the 70 s. I am getting a C-pap machine in December. Any ideas about those platelets?

Hi,

That depends on how low the platelets were. Bright red stools are suggestive of hemorrhoids, and the bleeding may have been exacerbated by low platelets. See your own doctor for a new platelet count.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
