What Is My X Ray Report Suggestive Of?

I had an x-ray done of my back to help confirm scoliosis. While looking st the x-ray it was noticeable that there are two large black spots near/under my rims. Strangely I have had a lot of pain and tenderness in those two areas. Could those spots indicate tumors of some sort?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are accidental findings were seen during different diagnostic tests which are suggested for other illnesses. But it doesn’t mean that the incidental findings are necessarily to be a tumor. X-ray films are seen by the doctors carefully as there are many things important in Xray imaging, sometimes the films are not clear or too dark.

So talk to your doctor about your doubts as just from x-ray film it's not appropriate to come to a conclusion. There are clinical symptoms and overall patient history as well as physical examination, lab tests these things are considered before reaching a confirmed diagnosis. Your doctor will go through your test results and talk to you about it so, the best thing to do is see your doctor and follow his advice for further management of your symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
