What Is My CAT Scan Result Suggestive Of?

I went to the doctor and had a cat scan done. I have a 0.9 cm cystic lesion in the right suboccipital region (this is what the results state). I am very worried. I ve had a little lump there for many years now and never thought it was anything to worry about but this is the first time it has it has changed in size. It s causing the lower right area of my head to feel like when your foot falls asleep. It has been this size for almost a week now. The doctor tried to drain it with a needle but very little fluid came out. Do you think this may be cancer?

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello,

Of course hard to say without examining it, but usually, these lesions even if tumorous are benign. They may grow or get infected over the years needing to be removed, but rarely are malignant and pose any danger.

So while it may need to be removed and biopsied, you shouldn't be alarmed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
