I AM ADOCTOR ENCOUNTERING MOSTLY ADULT WITH HIGH GRADE FEVER SEVERE LETHARGIC FEELINGS ASSOCITED WITH NEASEA AND VOMITING; BLOOD PICTURE SHOW TYPHIDOT TEST IGM POSITIVE .IN LAB REPORT THERE IS LEUKOPENIA PLUS LOW PLATELET COUNT ,THERE IS A COFUSING PICTURE ,AND FEEL DIFICULT TO TREAT SUCH PATIENT TO MENAGE AS ACASE OF TYPHOID OR DENGUE OR AS ACASE OF MALARIA ,BECAUSE THICK OR THIN FILM FOR PLASMODIUM USUALLY COME NEGATIVE
If thyphidot IgM is positive, treat the patient as for typhoid only. Leucopenia do occur in typhoid also. Until you get malaria positive by slide method or immunochromatographic (Card Test), do not give anti-malarial drugs.
