What Is A Protruding Sebaceous Cyst On Buttock Suggestive Of?
I think I have a sebaceous cyst on my left butt cheek, I noticed it's been there a few years, Sometimes it feels hard and sometimes soft but doesn't hurt and it does not have an opening to indicate that it will break out, it is just protruding out nice and round. Though not so nice seeing it there all the time. What can I do to make it go away?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sebaceous cyst on buttock. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infection , haematoma , abscess , sebaceous cyst or pilonidal sinus. This usually occur due to infected hail follicles . I would suggest you to keep the site clean and dry , apply petroleum jelly on its , apply warm compresses several times a day and also appy over the counter antibiotics cream . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antbiotics like clarithromycin along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also perform minor surgery under local anesthesia.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
