What Is A Bruised Swelling On Arm Post An Injury Suggestive Of?

My very large autistic son had a major meltdown last night, pinched/bruised both of my upper arms and kicked my right shin, which is swollen and very tight (the skin). Bruise is just starting to be visible. About 7 x 5. What I want to know is, is it just a bruise or something else?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi, I have read your question and understand your concern.
People who have been hit with a blunt object observe swelling and discoloration at the site of injury.
This happens when tiny blood vessels in our body burst owing to the trauma resulting in swelling and discoloration. However it gets settled on its own after a week.
If a patient comes to me with such problem I suggest him local application of heat and tab diclofenac 50 mg twice daily for 3 days.I also advise him to avoid heavy work till it gets better.
I find this answer helpful
