What Is Rhabdomyolysis And Renal Insufficiency?

What is Rhabdomyolysis and renal insufficiency? My son had/has Malignant Hyperthermia and we found out when he had surgery last year. These are one of the two things he is being disqualified for to get into the military are they related to the MH?

Hello,

Malignant hyperthermia leads to breakdown of proteins in muscle and thus renal insufficiency or deranged renal functions. This can lead to disqualification in army or military.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
