What Impact Will Change In Birth Control Pills Have On Periods?

Hi. Im on cerazette for 2 months now. But will shift to diane 35 due to dizziness caused by cerazette. Will my period return after the 21 days of taking diane? Or is there any possibility I would nt have period beacuse of taking cerazette before shifting to diane? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Both pills, cerazzette and Diane, are prescribed as hormonal contraceptives. And yes when using Diane 35, the periods will become more regular and lighter. While when using cerazzette, the periods become more irregular. However, when benefits outweigh the side effects, we are constrained to prescribe them.

All the best. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
