What Happens When Food Goes Into Wind Pipe?

Was eating mac n cheese. Thought I had swallowed it all. My nose was running from the hot sauce I put in my Mac n cheese. I went to snort and felt a tiny piece of Mac n cheese go down the wrong pipe. I did cough and a tiny piece came out. My throat feels weird now, scratchy even. I m breathing ok, although i do feel slight pressure on the right side of my chest/abdomen..in hoping none of the food went down into my lungs.

Hi,

Do some gargles with warm water, itching in throat remains for few days you may take lorengzes for this! Only way to rule out surely is via CXR about food, it will not be otherwise u will be totally restless! This is due to unconscious eating or thinking and eating etc!

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
