He has been in the hospital for seven days and his episode is worsening. his enzymes are increased and has been told his pancreas is getting worse. he used to have a stint in the pancreatic duct but was recently removed, thus the episode. what does it mean when they tell you the pancreas is getting worse. we were told there was no treatment for this problem just waiting it out.

Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM). I could not get whether it is acute or chronic pancreatitis or acute on chronic pancreatitis. Treatment is available for all the three conditions by medicines, endoscopic and surgical. So I will suggest you to visit a Gastroenterologist who will see all your reports and manage accordingly.
I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Remain in touch and get-well soon.
