What Does Vaginal Bleeding And Cramps After Positive Pregnancy Test Indicate?

I got a positive home pregnancy test about a week ago. Yesterday I started bleeding and cramping. Almost like a period, except I'm not bleeding as heavily as I usually do.I have had a miscarriage before and it was the worst pain I've ever been in, & there was so much blood. What are the chances that the baby is ok?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Hormonal changes, Infections
Subchorionic hemorrhage
Miscarriage (either threatened or imminent): usually accompanied by other symptoms, such as cramping or abdominal pain.
Ectopic pregnancy
Molar pregnancy, characterized by an abnormal growth on the placenta, and, usually, an abnormal fetus.
I would suggest to consult gynecologist as early as possible and undergo examination and USG scan to know status of pregnancy.
Take complete bed rest
maintain proper pelvic hygiene
Drug containing progesterone can be useful to stop bleeding
Other specific treatment depend on cause
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
