What Does Ultrasound Result Indicate?

Dear Doctor, I'm Mita, 28 weeks pregnant. (my LMP: Nov 6, 2011). I just had ultrasound and came with the result: BPD 77.9mm; AC 258mm; FL 53.6mm. Are all the parameters normal considering the size of larger BPD and AC, or are they indicating something?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

BPD is biparietal head diameter, HC is head circumference, AC is abdominal circumference and FL is femoral length. These are variables which together give us the probable age of the developing fetus. These are regular measurements taken to create a profile of the fetus based on measurements and to indicate if the baby growth is as per age. At 28 weeks your measurements are normal.
