What Does Transverse Sinus Thrombosis In The Left Side Of Her Brain Suggest?
Hello Doctor, My name is XXXX and the question is concerning my wife. I apologize for such a long dissertation but the only way to ask a question is to give the answeree all of the pertinent information. At least that is the way I like to receive questions. In a recent MRIV it was discovered that she has a transverse sinus thrombosis in the left side of her brain. A Grayscale, color adoppler and spectral sonogram through the common and internal carotid arteries bilaterally. Findings: Right distal CCA velocity is 60cm/sec Left distal aCca velocity is 75 cm/sec Right ICA maximal velocity is 121 cm/sec Left ICA maximal velocity is 104 cm/sec Vertebral directions are antegrade ICA to CCA ratio are normal She is experiencing severe pain in the region where the Sternocleidomastoid muscle connects to the base of the skull to the point of being in tears a great deal of the time. We have an appointment with a vascular surgeon on the 20 December 20, 2017 yet with her with such severe pain I feel she in in need of care long before that date. In addition is a vascular surgeon more or less appropriate than a neurosurgeon in this instance. Thank you for your consideration.
