What Does Throat Pain And Swelling In The Lymph Nodes Indicate?
Hi, Im 39 yo female. I use to smoke one pack a day for 19 years but quit cigarets 3mo ago. 10 days ago I had ear and troath pain on left as well as my limph node was swollen only on my left side. I went to my GP who prescribe me amoxicilin 1000 mg two times per day for 10 days, and ear drop because he says that my ear was red. Also I have a red line on my troath( please see pictures). However now 10 days later I still have ear and troath pain as well as limph node pain and this RED THINK on my troath. I am more concern what this red line on my troath is? There is No bleading. Also I would like to tell you that my toncils are removed 30 years ago. Can you please tell me what this could be. Since I was smoker what is the risk to be a troath cancer?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. By your history and description, you are suffering from an ENT infection thats resistant to amoxicillin. Usually cancer lymph nodes are not painful. Also, you have redness in ear and throat. These are signs of infection, not tumor. But please don't start smoking again!! you are still at risk for all smoking related cancers.
Take care, Regards
