What Does This Ultrasound Scan Report Mean?

I have an anteverted uterus measured 8x5x5 and contained a 0.70cm endometrium.
intramural fibroids with the largest measuring 1.8x1.7cm and was at the fundus. no free pelvic fluid was seen.
Is this a serious condition and do I need surgery to remove the fibroids?

Hello, thanks for writing to HCM.
Your ultrasound report states a normal sized uterus and endometrial thickness.
The intramural fibroids noted seem to be small, with the largest less than 2cm.
Whether you need treatment or not, depends on factors such as your age and menstrual complaints .
You only need surgery if you are symptomatic (or the fibroids are interfering with fertility/pregnancy).

A lot of women choose the option of watchful waiting.
It is a not a serious thing and non-cancerous. Fibroids are known to shrink after menopause.
