Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello there, I have just had an ultrasound statement is as follows - The left kidney has good cortical preservation with a length of 10.4cm with a mid pole cyst of 2.6x3.0x3.6cm No calculi or obstruction shown. Is this likely to be a problem? Should it continued to monitored by ultrasound and how often is recommended please. Regards Charles.
Mid cortical cyst or Simple renal cyst as the size suggest right now nothing to worry it is common and mainly asymptomatic.Unless it has some symptoms like pain, fever episodes, dysuria.Which is unlikely small and single cyst unless it grows. Take plenty if fluids. Visit you physician who suggested the test. Only if asymptomatic do a repeat USG after 3-4 months with KFT blood test.
