What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?
My father has his ultrasound today, june 8, 2017. and twas discovered that he has an exophytic cyst in the mid pole of his left kidney with a size of 7.5 x 6.8 cm. I just want to ask if, based on the size of the cyst, is it serious and does my father needs surgery? Hope for your response.

Usually the renal cyst are of no concern if they have thin walls and clear liquid in it (anechogenic). But if they exceed 70 mm in diameter they can cause compresion of adjacent structure, so in some cases they can be evacuated by needle punction or by some surgical procedure.
