What Does This Ultrasound Of Pelvis Indicate?

hello doctor i did a usg of pelvis and te report is my rt ovary measures 30*16mm and left measures 35*31mm.Cyst measuring 36*22 mm. whats the problem and what should i do now and what should be the normal size of ovary and what is cyst and is there any problem with it??

Thanks for writing in.

Your ultrasound report shows that the right ovary measures 30 x 16 mm and is normal. The left ovary measures 35 x 31 mm and is enlarged, contains a cyst measuring 36 x 22 mm.

Such a cyst is not a concern unless there is pain. To me it appears as a simple cyst of ovary and should resolve on its own. This can take over 3 months and you might have to take medications after consulting your gynecologist. These cysts can occur due to hormonal changes. Taking low dose of hormones may solve this problem and make the cyst to disappear.

Most of the time these can also be functional cysts and related to your periods. These will resolve with your periods.
