What Does This Transvaginal Ultrasound Report Specify?
I m 66 years old. Got results for ultrasound plevis complete and transvaginal. Report says Endometrium: Measures 20 MM in maximal thickness. Normal echotexture. No polypoid lesion or abnormal vascularity is seen. I had endometriosis when I was 29 and had left ovary and fallopian tube removed. For colonoscopy a pediatric scope has to be used because of scar tissue from endomentriosis of the bowel. Had bowel resection and cecum and 6 of colon removed in 2001 - pathology came back benign. My gyn is away until 7/8 so really concerned about this report. I picked the report up from the hospital because didn t want to wait that long for results.
Your endometrial thickness is much more than the normal limit. Though the echotexture is normal and no vascularity seen it is a case of endometrial hyperplasia. Endometrial hyperplasia is very common in endometrial carcinoma. Moreover endometriosis rarely causes endometrial carcinoma at late age. Endometrial carcinoma is very much common now a days in post menopausal women. As early diagnosis has a significant role on prognosis you must have to confirm your diagnosis by doing a early biopsy of endometrial tissue.
