What Does This Test Result From MRI Indicate?
Is there a test that I can request for parasites that may be present in the blood or brain? Several members of my family have various symptoms, including seizures. The neurologist said that the mri is inconsistent with parasites as a cause, but because parasite induced epilepsy is progressive, I feel that early parasite infection may not show capsules on the mri. I requested labs, and she ordered pinto screening only. Are there any other tests that I may request. Thanks!

I understand your concern of parasite induced epilepsy. The investigation of choice being MRI. Even the early lesions are picked up by it. The best mode of treatment for this is avoiding pork and beef which are rich source of tapeworm larvae. Ask your doctor to deworm you with respect to the tapeworm.
