General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
I understand your concern.

After analysing the stool examination report, it clearly states that she is having from 'amoebiasis' caused by protozoan parasite organism called 'entamoeba histolytica'. It causes internal inflammation of large intestine.

Amoebiasis is a 100% treatable disease and specific antibiotics such as metronidazole or nitazoxanide may be used for the treatment under a doctor’s prescription. You need an evaluation from Pediatrician regarding the dose and duration of the medication to be given to her.

To prevent spreading of infection to others, one should take care of personal hygiene. Always wash your hands with soap and water after using the toilet and before eating or preparing food.

Hope the information provided would be useful.
Best wishes for her speedy recovery.
