What Does This Sperm Analysis Result For Conception Indicate?
Hi im 32 years old trying to conceive for about 4 years now, last year my ob told me that i had a polycystic ovaries my menstruation is irregular., after i undergo medication my menstruation is already regular. My husband sperm count is good but the problem is 60% of his sperms are non motile.can we still have a baby?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The motility required for successful conception is at least 42$. In your husband's case only 40% of sperms are motile. There may be a difficulty in conception. But if the count is satisfactory and morphology of majority of sperms is normal conception can be tried with assisted reproductive techniques. Since, you are suffering from polycystic ovaries, the ovulation may be irregular so you need to get follicular study done when you try for assisted reproductive technique.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
