Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Having pain in gallbladder region. Had sonogram and shows non mobile non shadowing a vascular echogenic foci on wall of gallbladder measuring up to 6 mm. Differential considerations include small gallbladder polyps versus small non shadowing non mobile gallstones. Given this info it is recommended I do follow up evaluation in 6 months. No acute cholecystitis. But I am having pain throw up can t really eat and drinking juices. Do I do nothing but lay in bed hurting? Thank you for any information.
Your ultrasound findings may suggests two differential possibilities,1.Gall bladder polyps 2.Non shadowing calculus. You are rightly suggested for follow up scan. Generally gall bladder calculus causes acoutic shadow in ultrasound.Acoustic shadow is not present in your case and this is the cause of diagnostic dilemma. As you have symptoms, you may be advised for Cholecystectomy(surgical removal of gall bladder)after evaluation. You should consult surgeon for proper evaluation.
