What Does This Resting Pulse Rate In A Elderly Man Indicate?

Hi, I m a 67 year old male in reasonable health. Average fitness. Slight belly but have dropped a couple of kilos lately through better eating. Heart rate is normally between 80 and 90 BPM. Just tried it and was 109 BPM while resting. Tried a few minutes later and it was 102 BPM still resting. Is this safe.
