What Does This Reading Of Microalbumin/creatinine Ratio Indicate?

What does a reading of 129.80 on the microalb/creat ratio mean? does it mean kidney failure is already going on? Also, My reports say : Microalbumin urine is 205.40 Creatinine 158.24 UREA SERUM : 29( In normal range) CREATININE SERUM : 0.90( In normal range) A1C(BLOOD GLUCOSE) : 6.10 CHOLESTEROL TOTAL : 215 TRIGLYCERIDES :306 HDL : 42 LDL : 111 Dipstick test : 30 mg/dl(1+) I am male, age 35, and diabetic(TYPE-2) of weight 77 kg with hieght 5.10 feet. Is this something that I need to worry about? Give me some advice too. what should we do for lowering the microalbum/creatinine ratio?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The microalbumin /creatinine ratio and the urinary microalbumin are used to detect kidney disease.

Microalbumin should be at very low levels or not detectable in the urine.
Your urine microalbumin is not be in the normal range and means that there is a small amount leaking in the urine.

The normal creatinine and BUN imply that the change is not significant at this time so that tight control of your blood sugar and blood pressure should prevent any further problems.

I hope this helps
