What Does This Pelvic CT Scan Test Result Indicate?

A CT REPORT STATES THAT I HAVE RIGHT EXTRARENAL PELVIS WITH MILD KINKING OR ECTASIA OF PROXIMAL RIGHT URETER . LAST YEAR I HAD PELVIC SURGERY TO SEPARATE MY RECTUM, VAGINA, BLADDER, AND RIGHT URETER. IS THIS NEW CONDITION RELATED TO THAT SURGERY? I HAVE LOTS OF PELVIC PAIN.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Whether the extra renal pelvis with kinking or ectasis of proximal right ureter is an event of post surgery or not needs Intravenous pyelogram or CT IVP status of pre and post surgery status. Kindly share your reports with me in follow up session, so that better work up can be figured out. However, as per my surgical experience, I think this of previously existing condition, kept for revision surgery rather than surgery induced ill effect.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
