What Does This Microalbumin Creatinine Level Indicate?

My recent lab tests showed my microalbumin creatin level at 169. What does this mean and what are any available treatments. Can it be reversed. I am type 2 diabetic and take medications for this but until recently have not been in control of my blood sugars. I am doing better in that area now and am learning how to deal with this and eat right to keep my blood sugars down. Thank you. Larry

Hi, I did review your concern. Your levels of microalbumin: creatinine level of 169 fall in microalbuminuria range. It is a very sensitive test to detect renal function and cardiovascular mortality in a diabetic individual. Your levels are not very high but are adequate enough to start ACE inhibitor therapy which will be helpful. I would recommend you to consult a physician for starting the therapY and continue your healthy eating habits that include high fibre diet and small frequent meals without much refined sugars and fat and more fruits and vegetables. Also 30 min of light aerobic exercise will work better for you
I hope this helps
wish you a very healthy life ahead.
