What Does This Liver Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Hi Dr . i have to go for a liver ultrasound because of liver enzymes. Slight elevation. My SGOT WAS 43 MY ALT WAS 175 I CURRANTLY DO NOT TAKE MEDS FOR CHOLESTERAL BECAUSE ITS NOT HIGH IT RUNS ON AVE OF 100 TO 103 but i do take metformin and invokana for diabetes SHOULD I HE CONCERNED ABOUT THE LIVER ENZYMES. IM SCARED .

Hi,

The ultrasound report is not mentioned here. Your SGOT is normal while SGPT/ALT is marginally high. If no symptoms, this need no treatment, provided it return back to normal after 2 weeks. Otherwise, we can evaluate further. Till then, avoid paracetamol and alcohol.
