What Does This Echocardiogram Test Result Indicate?
I just got my results back from my Echocardiogram. Please let me know what all this means and if it can be corrected. The left ventricular systolic function is normal, ejection fraction is 55-60%. The left ventricular cavity size is normal but there is concentric left ventricular hypertrophy present. The left atrium is mildly dilated. The left ventricular diastolic function is abnormal (mild grade 1) showing impaired relaxation. There is mild mitral valve regurgitation present. I didn t know you had to pay for this service. The pumping action of your heart is slightly impaired due to thickening of the heart wall.
Uncontrolled hypertension may be the predisposing cause.
You might require drugs to improve the cardiac status.
