General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What the chest X-ray is indicating is the following:
1. Upper lobe fibrosis - this is reaction of lung tissue towards scar formation following treatment for tuberculosis.
2. Obscured effusion - this suggests that you have got fluid collection in the lung cavity. This could be due to a complication arising out of tuberculosis or due to secondary bacterial infection like pneumonitis.
Depending on the volume of fluid collection, it needs to be drained and analysed what it could be due to (Pleural fluid analysis).
Since you are also having cough, you need to get your sputum examined for culture and sensitivity.
Kindly get a proper work-up done and consult Pulmonologist or Physician for appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
