What Does This Chest X-ray Report Indicate?

What does this chest xray means & how to treat & what type of food to eat & is it contagious? Left lung upper lobe is extensive densities. Lung volume is reduced. These are seen to be partly healed. Active infection cannot be excluded due to the hazy densities. Features are that of partially healed chronic infection, PTB. Right lung apical zone is hazy.

This clearly shows inflammation took place and lesions healed showing dense images. Haziness may be due to exudate in the spaces. When elasticity of lungs loses, it may shrink little bit post healing. When the damage is marked elasticity of alveolar spaces is als lost causing breathing problems too sooner or later.

This all is generally caused by PTB..Emphasema is also caused by PTB most of the times.

Treatment is long. Anti TB treatment is scheduled for next 9-12 months generally in India since most of the times six minths tretment doesnt suffice. It is contagious. Nourishing food is must.

Treatment should be uninterrupted.

Hope it helps you.
