What Does This Blood Test Report Indicate?

My grandson is four yrs and currently in hospital ED with severe nausea/vomiting ... he has had IV fluids and is now holding down his pedialyte but doctor is wanting to f/u lab because earlier blood test revealed a critically low CO2 level that may require hospitalization if not better. What does a critically low CO2 level mean? Is it dangerous?

Low Co2 causes metabolic acidosis which is serious if not managed...but its not something that ED people can't handle
