What Does This Blood Test Report Indicate?

Dear Doctor, I have done the blood test recently and the results are as follow. GGT value is 46.3 SGOT value is 36 SGPT vale is 72.6 I have fatty lever, Cholesterol and blood sugar. I have no habits like alcohol, smoking etc. Please advice, whether the above value is very high or is it normal. Appreciate your reply on this matter. Regards Sasikumar

Thanks for writing to HCM.

I understand your concern. What you have posted the report is concernd with liver function.

The report seems to be normal except that your SGPT level is almost two-fold increase, which is suggestive of some amount of damage to liver due to the development of fatty liver.

It is good that you are not a smoker and alcoholic. Since you say that you are diabetic and having high cholesterol as well, it is advisable to keep these things under proper check. That is because, it will reflect directly in the progression of fatty liver and liver dysfunction.

Hence, take proper advise from a Physician or Diabetologist regarding your condition and follow strictly the advise given, pertaining to diet, drugs and exercise.
