Hi thanks for using Healthcaremagic
Glycomet GP1 contains two ingredients
1.Metformin 500mg
2.Glimepride 1mg
Glimepride is the drug to control after food sugar value and Metformin is the drug to control fasting sugar value.
Glycomet SR. contains only Metformin .there is no Glimepride in it.
More over 500mg Metformin/day is not adequate.
you require at least twice daily
Glycomet GP1 has to be taken before food but Glycomet 500 can be taken after food also. Its better to take after food when taken alone.
Your blood sugar values are not fairly controlled at present. You can try nice dose of Metformin(Glycomet) first along with diet control and exercise .If it is not controlled then try Glyconet GP 1 in the morning before food and Glycomet SR at night after food .i think the problem will be solved then.....

hi..thanks for using Healthcaremagic
Glycomet GP1 is different from Glycomet SR 500..
Glycomet GP1 contains two ingredients
1.Metformin 2. Glimepride
Glycomet GP1 has the ability to decrease after food sugar values. But Glycomet SR 500 mainly decreases the Fasting sugar values
But as an initial treatment Metformin with lifestyle modification will reduce both fasting and after food sugar values.
Metformin once daily is not enough, you hav to take at least two times a day..
