General & Family Physician 's  Response
No, this is not serious. A lipoma is a benign tumor of fat cells. It grows under the skin in the subcutaneous tissue which contains many fat cells. It is slow growing and may occur singly or in multiple numbers. Lipoma usually causes no symptoms. Most lipomas require no treatment. Surgical excision is done for large lipoma and for cosmetic purpose. Cure is possible by surgical excision on individual tumor. Consult a general surgeon for surgical excision.
Thanks
