I had an MRI done of the left shoulder. What is meant by Subacute/healing high-grade tear of the distal anterior myotendinous junction of the supraspinatus muscle. Also, Partial subacute retracted tear of the infraspinatus myotendinous junction, and mild tendinopathy/bursal surface fraying of the supraspinatus tendon. This was the Impression from the MRI. Is this something too worry about? My Orthopedic MD only said I had a few tears and to continue with Physical Therapy. Thanks.
1.Your report suggest that there is a healing stage of tear of the tendon of supra-spinatus. 2.This will be seen on MRI as altered signal, with discontinuity of the tendon or altered intensity. 3.Similar feature seen with infra-spinatus tendon muscle insertion point. with alteration of signal intensity. 4.The impression says there are tears and inflammatory changes in the tendon and bursa. 5.Physiotherapy is initial treatment of choice and monitor the healing process. 6.Avoid rapid movements, no to lift weights will help as a remedy. Good luck.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
