What Does This X-ray Report Indicate?

I have had xrays done on my hip. and one line says: Moderate-severe left hip joint space narrowing superiorly, with subcortical cysts in the acetabular roof, and slight periarticular sclerosis. IMPRESSION: Moderate left hip joint degenerative changes, and possibly underlying hip dysplasia. Can you explain the subcortical cysts and the slight periarticular sclerosis?
