Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my xray report says that: suspicious densities are seen in the right lung apex. the pulmonary vascular markings are within normal. the cardiac shadow is not enlarged. the diaphragm, lateral costophrenic sulci and the bony thorax are unremarkable
impression: apicolordotic view is suggested to better evaluate the right lung apex.
what does it mean? is it serious? what do i need to do? am i fit to work?
1.The x-ray suggest that there is suspicious density in the right lung apex - which could not be evaluated well in the PA view due to presence oc complex anatomy. 2.For better visualisation of the apical portion of the lungs - apical view is suggested. 3.Generally apical part of the lungs are most prone for tubercular infection so it needs to rule out at first place. 4.Rest of the findings in the chest x-ray are described as normal findings. 5.A sputum examination is also needed along with the x-ray to exclude the tubercular infection. 6.In case of pneumonia - as course of antibiotics will be helpful.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
