What Does This Pap Smear Test Report Indicate?

I have an abnormal pap result. Epithelial cell abnormality Atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance, predominance of coccobacilli consistent with shift in vaginal flora is present. Endocervical squamous metaplastic cells are present. HPV hight risk-negative HPV low risk- negative What does it mean?

Hi,

Incomplete data like age, purpose of doing Pap smear, any associated issues, marital status, parity, etc not mentioned. Suggestive of abnormal cells with negative HPV tests. It does not mean you have cancer, but it has precancerous cells. A negative HPV test means you do not have an HPV type that is linked to cervical cancer. Consult your treating doctor for a possible “colposcopy” a procedure that allows to visually inspect the vagina and cervix under magnification for any abnormal areas and to collect samples for a biopsy and/or treat as necessary to confirm or to rule out cancer.
