What Does This Pap Smear Report Indicate?

Hello Doctor, Below is my recent Pap Smear report. Is the result normal? If abnormal, can you please explain and what care do I need to take? SpecimenAdequacy : Adequate Superficial cells - Present, normal in morphology. Intermediate cells - Present, normal in morphology. Deep Parabasal cells / Basal cells / Parabasal cells - Present, normal in morphology. Metaplastic squamous cells - Not seen. Endocervical cells - Not seen. Infammation - Dense infiltrate of neutrophils Organism: Doderlein bacilli - Absent Trichomonas Vaginalis - Absent Fungal organisms - Absent Others - Plenty of coccobacilli seen Epithelial cell abnormalities: Squamous / Glandular : Nil Interpretation results: -S/o-Infammatory smear. Note: cervical cytology is a screening test and has associated with false negative and false positive results. Regular sampling and follow up is recommended.

The test results indicate - the sample taken was enough, the area seen on the papsmear appeared normal (normal in morphology). No cancer cells were seen.

The area was inflamed (irritated) , this is the reason for the neutrophils which are a marker for infection, are found.

Summary: no cancer seen but possible infection
