Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What does all this mean 1. Cartilaginous thinning seen in the lateral facet of the patella. Lateral subluxation of the patella. Minor patellofemoral compartment osteoarthritis. Some subchondral cystic change and edema noted in the trochlea of the femur. 2. Small effusion. No meniscal injuries. Fluid seen about the medial collateral ligament is most likely due to the accompanying joint effusion, although I cannot rule out a low-grade proximal MCL sprain. The cruciate ligaments are intact. There are no fractures. 3. Trace cartilaginous fissuring of the lateral tibial plateau noted.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Dear report showing that due to osteoarthritis you may develop effusion with lateral displacement of patella with patellar and femoral joint osteoarthritis. So take rest , avoid lifting heavy weight from ground , use knee cap. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
